EMIS Web courses
Introduction to clinical coding
This course is designed for GP practice administration staff who are new to or have little experience of clinical coding and will be delivered via MS Teams.
During the course, you will learn:
- Understand the principles of coding in EMIS Web
- Develop knowledge of what coded information is used for after being entered into EMIS Web
- Be able to use the course information to adhere to data quality guidelines
- Understand the transition from Read Codes to SNOMED CT including key changes and benefits
- Practice both Read Code and SNOMED CT searching methods using the EMIS Web code browsers
- Understand the coding structure including hierarchy, synonyms, and relationships
- Have knowledge of external resources and how they can further develop an understanding of coding and data quality

Introduction to note summarising
This course is designed for GP practice administration staff who have little or no experience of note summarising. This course is delivered via MS Teams.
We recommend that you attend the medical terminology and the clinical coding course prior to note summarising to provide you with an adequate foundation and knowledge base.
During this course you will learn:
- The principles of note summarising
- How to identify important clinical information in the patient record e.g cytology results, allergies, QOF data
- How to add clinical data using EMIS data entry tools
- How to tidy the record and merge, combine or end inactive problems
- Amend read codes, dates, locations and notes
- What to keep and what to cull
During this session you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate practical application of these skills.

SystmOne courses
Introduction to clinical coding

- Develop knowledge of what coded information is used for after being entered into TPP SystmOne
- Be able to use the course information to adhere to data quality guidelines
- Understand the transition from CTV3 to SNOMED CT including key changes and benefits
- Practice both CTV3 and SNOMED CT searching methods using the TPP SystmOne code browsers
- Understand the coding structure including hierarchy, synonyms and relationships
- Have knowledge of external resources and how they can further develop understanding of coding and data quality

Medical Terminology
This course is designed for GP practice administration staff who need a basic understanding of the words and language they may come across in the practice. If you plan to become a note summariser or perform clinical coding duties it is recommended that you attend this course.
The course is delivered via MS Teams.
